    Description

Cranktank is a different way to carry and access a larger quantity of water on your bike. Designed with backcountry bike racers and tourists in mind, the Cranktank is an easy to remove, fill, and replace water bottle that securely connects to your inner triangle with velcro straps. With a capacity of 3 or 4 Liters (select below), the Cranktank replaces that heavy water backpack and inefficient water bottles with a single system that provides all-day water while maximizing your weight distribution. No more detours to find water - crank on!
    Large capacity
Easy and safe access for drinking while on the move
    Space efficiency
Minimal impact on handling when full
Securely mounted but still quick and easy to remove
    Robust and lightweight
Able to fit as many conventional double triangle frames as possible
Provides space in the top of most bike triangles for a partial frame bag
On longer backcountry adventures, carrying enough water on the bike can be a challenge. The usual solutions include bottles mounted on various locations around the bike, a hydration pack on the back, a bladder in the frame bag, and often, various combinations of the above. They all work, but Adventure Hydration just made a solution that blows all of these out of the water.
Their design process included a list of attributes that was considered desirable in a water carrying solution that could be used on any ride, whether it was a quick ride or a fully self-contained trip:
To be able to carry enough for riding all day when hot or 24 hours in milder conditions.
To carry it on the bike and in a position where it has minimal impact on handling when full. That meant low and central
To use no more frame space than two standard bottles. Ideally less.
To mount securely but still be quick and easy to remove
To be able to drink from it easily and safely while on the move
To be robust but lightweight for the capacity
And it had to fit as many conventional double triangle frames as possible
Against the list? Well, it does mount super securely and low in a wide range of frames and is quick to remove. It’s easy and safe to drink from on the move via the insulated tube with bite valve, it occupies a little less frame space than two bottles. And, even when full, it has minimal effect on bike handling.
The primary difference between the winner of the Tour Divide and challengers - isn't speed but time on the bike. With the cranktank onboard, you can minimize your time fiddling with individual bottles, free up your back from that heavy water backpack and crank on!
To refill, simply unscrew the cap, unvelcro the straps, pull the unit off of your bike and fill from a faucet, or, if you're backcountry, fill up a collapsable bladder from that stream, thread your water filter into the bladder, and squeeze the filtered water into the cranktank while it's still on the bike. Nothing to it but to do it. No screws coming loose, no mounting hardware on your fork, and best of all, no bottles bouncing out of your cages while you bomb down Fleecer Ridge.
It IS different and DOES challenge the norms. The perfect solution for riders going further! 466g including tank, velcro straps, cap, inner straw, and quick release water tube with bite valve.
The Cranktank 3 and 4 kits includes the following:
Cranktank with threaded cap and inner flow straw
Two Velcro straps to facilitate easy removal and replacement
One Insulated quick release water tube with bite valve, 48" / 4 Feet
Extra bite valve and heat shrink
Handlebar mount for water tube + two zip ties for mounting
Self-adhesive helicopter tape (to protect bicycle finish)
Self-adhesive velcro and PVC shock reducer to facilitate mounting
Superfly Adventure Hydration sticker - suitable for toolbox or bike rack
    Fitment FAQs:
Cranktank has been designed with the aim of fitting as many double triangle frames as possible. So touring bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes all the way through to mountain bikes.  The main limitations are small mountain bike frames with heavily dropped top tubes and some gravel style bikes with "hockey stick" style down tubes.
It is designed to sit flat along its length against the down tube and slide down (and back) to locate on the seat tube. (Most curved seat tubes are fine.) This provides for very secure location in the frame.
To make sure it fits your frame, take a measurement at 90 degrees to the down tube across to the junction of the seat and top tubes. ( See diagram below with "red line". The red line is the measurement position.) For down tubes around 38 mm in diameter, the measurement should be 240 mm minimum. For down tubes around 50 mm in diameter, it should be a minimum of 245 mm. For squared off tubes often utilised on carbon or aluminium frames or for use with the Wedgie mount, the measurement should be minimum 250 mm.
